Astronaut Pet Portrait

Astronaut, painted like a masterpiece.

Astronaut is the scene for pets who clearly belong in a different category of being. Your pet in a full NASA-style pressure suit — white with mission patches, the visor down, a reflection of Earth and star-field visible in the curved glass — painted against deep space. The suit is authentic in its engineering details (the neck ring, the torso connector, the glove attachments) because the joke only works when the painting is completely serious about the costume.

The astronaut scene works on any breed or species and is our most-ordered scene for gifts to engineers, scientists, and anyone whose pet has "exploratory energy." The visor reflection of Earth is the detail recipients always mention first.

What Astronaut looks like

Head-and-shoulders portrait framed by the white pressure suit. EMU-style helmet with the visor down, gold reflective layer on the outer visor (authentic to actual EVA equipment), a curved reflection of Earth visible in the glass. Mission patches on the shoulder. Deep space behind — scattered stars, no planet visible except in the visor. The pet's real face, markings, and expression visible through the visor.

Recommended pairings

Astronaut defaults to Cinematic (documentary-photograph register, looks like NASA press photo — our recommendation) but also lands in Classic Oil for a retro-NASA / Soviet-space-program propaganda-poster register. For a more graphic, high-contrast take try Pop Art.

Common questions

Can you see the pet's face through the visor?
Yes — the visor is painted as semi-transparent, showing your pet's real face, fur, and expression inside the helmet. The gold outer visor tint is visible (authentic to the EVA visor) but your pet's markings are legible through it. The reflection of Earth appears in the curved outer surface.
Are the mission patches generic or can I customize them?
The patches are generic by default (a mission-style circular badge without readable text). If you want a custom text patch — your pet's name, a mission number, a date — add the request as a checkout note and we'll paint it in.
What if I want my pet floating in zero-G?
The default is a portrait-style composition (head and shoulders), not full-body floating. If you want a full-body floating composition with feet off the ground, add that request in the studio notes — it's a valid alternative and we can accommodate it.
