Head-and-shoulders or half-body portrait. Weathered tricorn hat — dark felt, slightly battered, set at an angle. Loose-collared white or buff shirt, open at the neck. A gold or brass hoop earring. Optional: a bandolier or a small hooked detail at the shoulder. Tall ship rigging in the background, or a harbor at sunset with warm copper sky. Common questions
- Will the pet have an eye patch?
- Not by default — the eye patch is optional and tends to look better on some breeds and species than others. Add "eye patch" to the checkout note if you want it. For cats, it works extremely well; for dogs, it depends on the face shape. We can show both options if you want to compare.
- Can I add a parrot on the shoulder?
- Yes — add it at checkout. Parrot-on-shoulder is a popular request and we can include a painterly parrot (green and red, perched on the shoulder) as a background detail. It reads as atmosphere rather than competing with the main subject.
- What if I have two pets — can they both be in the pirate portrait?
- Yes — a crew portrait with two pets is possible. One pet tends to read as captain, the other as first mate (relative size and position). Order a single portrait and add "two pets: [describe both]" in the checkout note. Multi-pet portraits may take slightly longer to produce.
