Wizard Pet Portrait

Wizard, painted like a masterpiece.

Wizard is the scene for pets whose gaze suggests access to information the rest of us don't have. Your pet in a tall pointed hat with celestial embroidery, a long robe with wide sleeves, holding a carved wooden staff — painted in a candle-lit library lined with leather-bound tomes, a glowing orb on the table beside them. The reference is Tolkien and Le Guin rather than Harry Potter — the ancient-magic register, not the contemporary-school one.

Wizard is our most popular scene for cats (the association is obvious) and for fantasy-fiction readers, D&D players, and anyone whose pet radiates arcane energy.

What Wizard looks like

Head-and-shoulders or half-body portrait. Tall pointed hat in deep midnight blue or forest green with gold star and moon embroidery. Long robes of the same color with wide sleeves. A gnarled wooden staff, a glowing crystal orb, or an open tome on the table. Candle-lit library background — warm amber against the cool shadow of book spines. The pet's real expression preserved: the wizard is neither performing nor posing; they simply are.

Recommended pairings

Wizard defaults to Renaissance (candlelit, old-master, the register of actual medieval grimoires — our recommendation) but also works in Classic Oil for a slightly warmer, slightly less-severe version of the same scene. For a softer, Tolkien-watercolor-illustration register try Watercolor.

Common questions

Can I request a specific spell or magical element in the scene?
Yes — add it at checkout. Common requests: a floating glowing rune, a specific animal familiar in the background, an open book with legible (invented) text, a specific color for the hat and robes. We'll work it into the composition.
Is the hat style Gandalf-style or Hogwarts-style?
Deliberately closer to the Tolkien/Le Guin register — a tall peaked hat with celestial embroidery, wider brim, more ancient-looking. We avoid the distinctively Hogwarts silhouette to keep the scene original. If you want a specific hat shape, describe it in the checkout note.
Will this work for a small breed or a toy?
The wizard scene works at any scale. A very small dog or cat in full wizard robes occupies the register of "powerful things come in unexpected packages" — which is actually the core Tolkien thesis about wizards. Chihuahua wizard, Pomeranian wizard, and Scottish Fold wizard are all popular.
